Elizabeth Nicole Abrams, known under her stage name LIZ (or LIZ Y2K), is an American singer.

Early life[]

Abrams was born and raised in Tarzana, Los Angeles, California, and was singing from a young age. When she was in her early teenage years, she auditioned for a girl group, though she stated in an interview later on that she knew she wasn't a good fit.[1] She began working with producers and songwriters when she was thirteen.[2]

Career[]

In 2012, LIZ collaborated with Russian-German electronic music producer Zedd on "Hourglass", the first track from his debut studio album, Clarity.[3]

LIZ released her debut single, "XTC"—along with "Underdogs", its B-side—in January 2013.[4] Her second single, "Hush", was released the following May. During 2013, she also toured with Charli XCX[1] and collaborated with Ryan Hemsworth on "Day n' Nite".[5][6].

In February 2014, LIZ released her debut EP, Just Like You.[7] She also collaborated with Pharrell on "That's My Man", which is featured on the soundtrack for The Amazing Spider-Man 2.[8]

LIZ's fourth single, "When I Rule the World", was produced by SOPHIE and released in July 2015.
