Sailor Moon R&B is a joke genre name coined by LIZ.

BackgroundEdit

The name of the genre is derived from "Sailor Moon" and "R&B".

Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン Bishōjo Senshi Sērā Mūn) is a Japanese shōjo manga series written and illustrated in the early to late 1990s by Naoko Takeuchi. It follows the story of Usagi Tsukino, a teenage girl who discovers through a cat named Luna that she is the titular character of the series. Teaming up with a diverse group of comrades known as the Sailor Soldiers (セーラー戦士 Sērā Senshi), she is tasked with saving the Solar System from destruction while uncovering the truth about her past. Sailor Moon is regarded as one of the most influential franchises of all time and is credited with "redefining" the magical girl anime genre.

Rhythm and blues, often abbreviated as R&B or RnB, is a genre of African-American music that originated in the 1940s. Lyrics tend to focus heavily on the themes of triumphs and failures in terms of relationships, freedom, economics, aspirations, and sex.
